Technorati: Discussion about “Twitter Reaches 44.5 Million People Worldwide In June (comScore)”

Well, Twitter didn’t win a Nobel Peace Prize for its role in getting the word out about the Iran election protests earlier this summer, but it did gain about 7 million new visitors in the month of June. Twitter’s website attracted a total of 44.5 million unique visitors worldwide in June, 2009, according to comScore. Twitter’s worldwide audience grew a healthy 19 percent from May, 2009 (and an even healthier 1,460 percent from June, 2008, when its worldwide audience was just 2.9 million). With 20 million of its visitors coming from the U.S., Twitter’s audience is now 55 percent international.
